چکیده

Weeds are the major biotic constraints in finger millet production and account for 41 to 63% yield loss. Weed management through herbicides plays a role increasing productivity. The field experiment was conducted at Anbil Dharmalingam Agricultural College Research Institute, Tamil Nadu University, Tiruchirapalli during Kharif, 2018, evaluate weed practices on growth of transplanted under sodic soil conditions. laid out Randomized Block Design (RBD) with ten treatments three replications. treatment comprised different their combinations. results revealed that highest plant height, total number tillers/m2, dry matter production, leaf area index crop rate were registered PE application bensulfuron methyl 60 g/ha + pretilachlor 600 fb EPOE bispyribac sodium 25 g/ha. grain straw also g/ha, it par hand weeding 15 30 DAT. Hence, soil, g ha-1 found be most viable option effective control besides increased productivity profitability.

Weed Responses to Soil Compaction and Crop Management

Soil compaction first affects physical properties, as compaction occurs when soil particles are pressed together, reducing pore space between them and increasing the soil bulk density (Lipiec & Hatano, 2003; Raper, 2005; Reintam, 2006; Reintam et al., 2009). Soil compaction also influences chemical and biological processes, such as decreasing organic carbon (C) and N mineralization, the concent...
